April update

I can’t believe it is April already! The first few months of 2017 have certainly been interesting and my plan to reduce debts as well as have a ‘free’ Christmas could have totally gone to pot. Luckily, it is starting to work out again and I can get back to saving, clearing debts and blogging.

Christmas savings

I am saving well. So far I have:

  • £130 Love2Shop vouchers
  • £120 Asda vouchers
  • £19 Morrisons vouchers

I also have money saved on my Nectar card and Advantage card but I’m not going to count those at the minute as they are minimal.

I am really happy with these figures but I definitely need to work on the Morrisons vouchers, last year I had over £70.

Debts

I’m still paying off my debts. I am currently working on one that started at £269 and it is now down to £160. I’m really happy with this as I am paying it off with money that I make on eBay. All I need to do now is work hard on selling things on eBay as I have become a bit slow about it since my job changed. My target to get it paid by 28th May is still very much on track.

The plan for April

It’s simple. Get everything on eBay. Make money. Pay debts. And blog!

A good week

This week has been a pretty good one for money saving, earning and blog posting.

Money saving

I have added another £20 in Love2Shop vouchers this week. I spent two evenings for about 1 hour each time testing the smells of surface cleaner and hand soap. It’s a really easy way of earning vouchers but it’s not guaranteed. I can go months with no invite to test anything then a load turn up at once!

I’ve also added another £3 to my Morrisons savings.

Money earning

I’m using eBay as the main source of earning money. The money that I make is going towards some debts that I want and need to pay off. This evening I have hit my target to pay my first debt! I’m so happy because I’ve achieved this two weeks earlier than I had planned. I can’t wait to call Barclays in the morning and get rid of that debt once and for all! Now onto the next one. I have 104 days to hit that target which is hopefully more time than I need. I just need to keep on top of the eBay-ing!

Blog posting

I’m really enjoying blogging again and have had loads of views this week so thank you to everyone who has read my blog!!

My next post will be in the week!

Are surveys worth it?

There are loads and loads of survey sites out there, Toluna, GSK, iPoll, etc. They all want to know what you think of products, utilities, shopping habits, what you drink, watch on tv, even the last time you went to the doctors.

But are they worth it?

I have spent hours signing up to various survey sites and some are definitely better than others. I’ve found some have never got surveys for me whereas others send me them almost every hour!

At the minute I am spending most my time on My Survey UK. This site seems to have the best surveys for me.  A lot are based around shopping and children so they are ideal for me and I do seem to have a high completion rate.

Screened out

screened out

This is so annoying!!! A survey can screen you out anywhere from the first tithe last question so you could spend 20 minutes of your time just to be told you no longer fit the demographic or the survey is now closed! It’s soul destroying but something you have to put up with when completing surveys.

Toluna is another of my go-to sites but I am starting to receive less and less survey invites from them.

Since I started completing surveys last September, I have made around £70 in vouchers plus some free samples to test. It’s not bad and bolsters my shopping vouchers for Christmas but I can’t rely solely on surveys.

I’m currently on £30 for this year and expect another £10 within the next few days all from My Survey UK. I swap the points I earn for Compliments vouchers which can be used in loads of high street shops.

What survey sites do you have most success on?

April update

It’s the start of another month so it’s time to take a look at how much I have saved for Christmas 2016 so far.
Again, I have been far too lazy when it comes to completing surveys. The plan is to do at least 5 a week this month to try and increase my vouchers.
Saved for Christmas 2016 so far:

£110 Love2Shop vouchers

£30 compliments vouchers (I marked these as Love2Shop vouchers last month. Oops!)

£20 Morrisons vouchers

£100 Asda gift card

£20 Nectar points

£12 Boots Advantage points

I’m really happy with these totals but I need to step it up this month!

Hopefully an update at the beginning of May will be awesome!
